Renting a car means handing over more personal information than almost any other purchase: your licence, your address, your date of birth and a selfie. This page says exactly what we collect, why, who else sees it, and how long we keep it.
Last updated September 10, 2026What we collect
When you book: name, email, phone, date of birth and address.
To verify you: photos of the front and back of your licence, a selfie, and — if you're using your own insurance — your policy declarations page.
About the trip: dates and times, which car, odometer readings, photos of the car at handover and return, and the delivery address if you asked for delivery.
From messages: what you write in the site chat or your booking thread, and any photos you attach.
Technical: your IP address, used to rate-limit the chat and the address lookup. We use no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Your card details never touch our servers. They go straight to Stripe; we keep only the last four digits and a reference so we can charge what you've authorised.
Why we collect it
To know the person driving is licensed and old enough to be — a legal and insurance requirement, not a formality.
To perform the contract: take the rent, place and release the deposit, work out mileage and fuel, and send you what you need to collect the car.
To keep a record of the car's condition out and back, which is what protects a guest as much as it protects us when a scratch turns up.
We don't sell your information and we don't share it with advertisers.
Who else sees it
Supabase — database, accounts, and storage for documents and photos. This is where your information lives.
Stripe — payments, deposits and later charges. They handle the card; we don't.
Cloudflare — hosting for this site.
Resend — booking emails.
Twilio — booking text messages.
Google Places — only the text you type into an address field, to complete it.
Anthropic — the assistant in the site chat. It receives your message and the business's public facts; it does not receive your booking, your licence or your account.
Beyond that list: our own team, and anyone the law requires.
How long we keep it
The signed agreement and the rental record are kept as long as Florida law requires and as long as a claim remains possible.
Licence and insurance photos are kept while your account is active, so you aren't asked for them again every rental. You can ask us to delete them.
Trip photos are kept with the record of that rental.
Messages are kept with the booking they belong to.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct something, or ask us to delete anything we aren't required to keep. Email the chat on this site.
We respond within 30 days. There's no charge for this.
If you're a Florida resident, the Florida Digital Bill of Rights gives you the right to know, correct, delete, and to opt out of the sale of personal data. We don't sell personal data.
Telematics
Cars carry telematics devices that report location, speed and vehicle health. They're there for theft, accidents and maintenance.
We don't watch where you go out of curiosity. The data gets looked at when a car is missing, when there's been an accident, or when service needs it.
Minors
This site isn't for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect information from minors. The minimum age to rent is 25.
Changes
If we change anything material here, we update the date above and email you if you have a live rental.
